Never bleach hair again. EVER.
UGHHHH
What happened?!
It’s all dry and ugly looking and it won’t hold any color! My bangs are fried. And, Every time I dye, it fades where my bleached highlights were… that’s only if it takes the…
Yes I am using permanent dyes but they are red. :( I figured it would stick really well to the bleached area but it actually sticks to the darker color better and doesn’t fade as fast. Yes I do use heat to straighten my bangs. As counterproductive as it is, the heat helps it ugly dry hairs not look so fried and dead. :(
Ohhh red is a tricky color! Do you do the color yourself? First I would suggest go to a hair dresser and they will be able to mix a color that will stay, but changing the vol of the peroxide they use. And secondly, look around for some “red shampoo”, what that does is helps lock in the color when you shampoo it and also kinda tints the hair at the same time! As for your bangs, if possible, try to blow dry them to style opposed to any flat or curling iron as its not direct heat :)
I went to a dresser the first time and it came out badly. She used a 10 developer and the color washed right out and just left me looking pink. The second time, I had my mom do it with ion permanent color and 20 developer. It has stayed red for much longer than before but it’s just fading where the highlights were. I do use biolage color shampoo and condition and ion color lock cream stuff. I wash it only when I need to but that ends up being pretty often because I live in Phoenix. And it is very very hot so I swear and my hair gets gross. And I use the ion cream about 3 times a week. My bangs never come out right if I try to just blow dry them with a round brush, like there’s fly away hairs that don’t cooperate and they still look all fried. I’m not trying to keep it red anymore. Next time I dye it, it’s back to brown for good! I’m tired of this upkeep. Thanks for the advice though. I really could’ve used it before. Maybe then I wouldn’t have had to have fired my hair so many times.
See red itself is a difficult color to keep! I’ve had red fever quite a few times and every time I end up dying it black because the upkeep is too hard. Over here in aus there is a red shampoo called Di Lorenzo, which my friend uses and swears by! But anyway, yeah, red usually always fries your hair because it doesn’t stay. A 30vol might work better but you don’t want to risk any more killing! Good luck! X
I don’t think we have that shampoo here :( I really like the red, for like the first few days. Yes it definitely is the hardest to maintain. I really don’t want to damage it anymore trying to keep the red red. I’m definitely back to blah brown when I can’t stand this red anymore. I would do it now but my mom would probably kill me for making her dye my hair red and then dying brown two weeks later. Lol
